Last June 28, we opened Orion in Sight: A View of Collective Work (Tanaw ang Balatík: Sipat sa Kolektibong Paggawa) in partnership with Ateneo Art Gallery.

For six months, we carried this exhibition through changing seasons and shifting horizons. Time moved, the skies turned, and yet the social, political, and cultural conditions that shape our lives remain haunted by the same structures of inequality, violence, forgetting, and displacement. The tides change, but the currents of history continue to pull us toward unfinished struggles.

This exhibition looks back to the histories of collaboration and collectivism that have sustained cultural movements since the 1970s. Every work bears the imprint of shared labor, shared dreams, shared risks, and shared convictions.
Balatík has long served as a constellation for orientation. We hope this exhibition also becomes a way of seeing, a reminder that even the longest night is not without a day. We move together through darkness, where, with our own hands, we forge the dawn.

Our deepest gratitude goes to the artists, cultural workers, communities, supporters, friends, families and everyone who joined us at the opening. Thank you for your presence and solidarity.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Ateneo Art Gallery for opening its doors to this exhibition and for making space for the enduring necessity of collective imagination.

Maraming maraming salamat at padayon sa kolektibong paggawa.
